Supply Management Development Sessions

The SMD sessions (monthly meetings) are held every third Thursday of the month from September through May, except for October and December. There are no monthly meetings held during the months of June, July and August.

Our speaker from Polaris Industries will present information on total cost buying and the tools Polaris put in place to be a more competitive company.

About the Speaker:
Dave Dickirson is the Director of Powertrain Purchasing at Polaris Industries. He is stationed at their Wyoming, Mn Research and Development Facility and leads a team responsible for $300M in engine and engine component purchases for all Polaris vehicles. Focus areas include contract management for key supplier-partners, commodity strategies, low cost sourcing, and quality improvements. He has been is this role for 5 years and prior to that he was the Engineering Manager for the Ranger Utility Vehicle and Watercraft Divisions within Polaris.

Dave has nearly 25 years of industry experience in Sourcing, General Management, and Engineering. He has held leadership roles at Mercury Marine, Motorola Inc., and the Ford Motor Company. He holds a BSME and MBA degree and has 4 US Patents.
