Principles of Supply Management

The Principles of Supply Management class is designed as an introductory class for individuals who are new to the profession of purchasing/supply management or for those who want a review of the basics.  A wide range of topics will be covered, but not to the depth and detail that is available from the C.P.M. or CPSM classes.

The class environment is informal and discussion is encouraged. The instructor will use PowerPoint presentations, hand-outs and case studies to amplify the content of the textbook.

The class is comprised of six, stand-alone sessions (see below).  Each class is three hours long.  Participants may choose to attend all six sessions or pick and choose those that are of most interest.  None of these classes are prerequisites to any of the others.

Each class qualifies for three hours of continuing education.  The entire class of six sessions qualifies for 18 hours of continuing education.  Minimum of 5 people to hold class.  Class size is limited.

The textbook World Class Supply Management:  the Key to Supply Chain Management, 7th edition by Burt, Dobler, and Starling.  The purchase of the text is optional and is NOT included in the fee.  However, it is recommended if one plans to attend more than two classes.
